Background
The laboratory of Complexity, its organization and methodology, has a direct antecedent which is based on José Sousa Ramos work. Among the many projects initiated or developed by José Sousa Ramos we highlight the following: (1978) Research Program in Mathematical Physics: Acerca do crítico hiperbólico - Hyperbolic Morphodynamics. (1983) Experimental Mathematics Laboratory at the Faculty of Sciences of Lisbon. (1984-85) Mathematics Project for the Intelligent Control (with P. Almeida, JM Ferreira and J. Taborda Duarte- LNETI). (1986) The Experimental Mathematics and Computational Art (with Noemio Ramos, subm. Gulbenkian). (1994) Geometric and Topological Methods in Low Dimension and Infinite Dimension - Praxis XXI, 2 / 2.1 / MAT / 132/94. (1996) Experimental Teaching of Mathematics, Science Program Viva No 30/96. (2004) Discrete Dynamical Systems Low Dimension and Infinite Dimension - POCTI / MAT / 60380/2004. Since 1994 supervised several students in doctoral and master's creating a school of mathematics that is still active. Made interventions on mathematics, science and society, in various forums: APM, SPM, Grupo Forma, Serralves, Gulbenkian. |
